Country Music Artist Rockie Lynne Talks New Album, Documentary

Coon Rapids, Minnesota

In early September, country music artist Rockie Lynne stopped by the Coon Rapids Civic Center in preparation for his 21st annual Tribute to the Troops Ride in Minnesota, which honors Gold Star families.

"We've been able to send over 125 children to college whose parents have passed away since 9/11," Lynne said.

It’s been a busy year for the singer and songwriter, who released his 16th album, LOVE, back in March, which is the soundtrack for the new JC Summerford documentary, “Where I Belong” which tells about his unimaginable life story.

"I was found in a garbage dumpster and I grew up in an orphanage,” Lynne said. “That's not really a movie that's just getting dealt a bad hand."

His incredible musical journey included taking a DNA test, which led Lynne to a chance meeting with his biological father.

"One of my favorite parts of the film is when my father, Clyde Holloway, comes up on stage and sings a song with us,” Lynne said. “I was overcome with emotion, just overcome with a feeling of unity and a feeling of belonging to something, and just love for him."

Rockie Lynne Carolina Freedom Festival Pictorial

June 18, 2024 by

I love sharing with you, dear readers, about Rockie Lynne. I have been a fan ever since I saw him in concert with Carrie Underwood probably 15 or so years ago. Recently I shared with you about his new documentarythat tells about his search for his biological family. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend you check it out. This past weekend, we got to see Rockie perform at Carolina Freedom Festival in Kernersville, NC. This is a natural stop in his touring schedule as much of Lynne’s work surrounds his charity Tribute To The Troops and various other charities. Kenny took some really great pictures of him, so I just had to share.
